Anybody else work overnights? I work 8p-9a Friday, Saturday, Sunday. When do you eat throughout the day and at work? When and what are your heavier meals?

Hi from one "vampire" to another! I was told that I would only gain more weight once I started nghts almost two years ago. OK, the first year I did, but n August of last year I started MFP and have lost 95 pounds!
Here is my system, since both my FitBit and MFP are not on the same clock as me. They start all over again at midnight and that is not quite half way through my "day". On a typical shift I will have "lunch" when I arrive at work. That is usually the Premier Protein shake from Costco. It only has 160 calories, but is packed with 30 grams of protein and is easy for me to drink down just before I get report. That will keep me going until 10 PM - midnight when I get a lunch break. I try to pack my lunch, but when you work 12 hour shifts and you drive an hour each way prep time is limited. My usual lunch on work days is a Lean Cuisine and some fresh cut veggies that I make up at home and pre-package before my three day work week begins. Sometimes I will bring some yogurt dip to have wth them. I like a little something sweet at this time, too. My work has a low fat frozen yogurt machine and they provide the nutritional info and a scale, so that works well for me. Otherwise I may bring a Kozy Shack 90 calorie tapioca for my treat.
Beginning the next day after mdnight, I have two snacks during the night to keep my blood sugar even, usually around 2AM & 4AM. I keep the snacks small and 100 - 150 calories each. The indvidual bags of 100 calorie popcorn are very filling (I pop them before comng to work since our mcrowaves at work are horrible for that and put them in a zip-lock bag.) I also may brng along some fruit, Laughing Cow Cheese with celery sticks, cheese sticks, or mini flavored rice cakes. Those are my most common snacks. I vary from day to day what I bring.
For breakfast I have Greek Yogurt and an oatmeal cup before report if I have time. Otherwise I have them when I get home.
It works well for me. Good Luck!0 -

My husband works nights, 730p-530a Monday-Thursday. He eats when he first comes home, usually 2 eggs and a piece of toast, then heads to bed. I wake him up around 2, then I make him 'supper' around 4 pm. Usually it's a protein (chicken or pork, occasionally beef) about 4 oz. He has a vegetable and sometimes a potato. He takes the same thing to work, and eats around midnight. For a snack, he'll either have carrots and a serving of ranch dressing, or celery and a serving of peanut butter. sometimes he has a mozzarella string cheese single serving. He takes a Fiber One cookie each night as well. This routine keeps him under his calorie deficit for the week, each week.0

I'm a fellow "vampire"....but ironically do not gain sutanence off of blood (only heart and various organs occasionally).
I just follow intermittent fasting and stick to Military time on all devices/watches.
Live off of water and caffeine during night, eat after work...makes sleeping in daytime easy.0 -
Well thanks so much guys!!!0

I used to work graveyards, and ate 'backwards'. First meal of the day was a dinner type meal before work, I'd have a lunch type meal while I was there and have something light when I got home. I tended to go to bed within an hour or 2 of finishing work, so it suited me.0

I often do something similar to this. Ill eat before work, around 5 pm, then around 11 pm, and I'll have a slimfast at 7 am. With a healthy snack thrown in where i need it.0
