Blisters ... I need serious help...

HELP! Seriously... I have tried like every single pair of socks - three pairs of shoes.
I had Sauconys and tried
Baleuga
and DryMax (worked the best)
Then got Brooks and tried
DryMax
Wrightsocks
STILL had recurrent blisters
Today I have Sauconys and tried
Smartwool socks ( based on a recommendation). I did not blister in the usual area... but instead blistered bad in a new area and have another one of the foot that just simply hurts bad but has not blistered.
Is there no hope? I am training for another half, but I wanna run a marathon some day and honestly my legs can handle it, my feet cannot!
(PS. I have also tried Body Glide as well as Moleskin. The Body Glide doesnt do a thing... and the Mole skin in my opinion keeps the foot too moist and then it blisters because the skin is broken down ... or it slides around, bunches up and created problems).

Are they on the back of your heels?0

everytime I get blisters I just suck it up but i dont ever have extreme cases. like I get them for about a week then they stop. Sorry no good with advice except what has worked for me and thats just sucking it up for a week. Maybe see a doctor? OR go to a shoe expert at one of the athletic stores.0

You need to rest and let them heal..then get a new pair of shoes specialty fit with inserts0

No, the most problematic place is the inside of the left heel along the arch but lower.
After the run today in the Smartwool socks -- the hell area was completely fine, but the outside middle of the foor below the pinky toe is in misery!0 -
How old are your running shoes? Maybe you need a new pair - they may be too big. Some times when we lose weight, our feet shrink as well. I may be way out there...but it's just a thought.0

What about the shoes that look like socks? They might be worth a try0

I had severe ones on the back of my heels had to go to the doctor to get an antibiotic along with treating them with neosporin. After they healed I started using mole skin back ther and have not had any more problems. I run upwards of 50-60 miles a week.0

Whenever I ran like 3 miles it was no problem! I didnt have to have a certain shoe or sock or clothes for that matter. Now that I have added alot more distance I'm finding all types of nagging issues. For instance, I have a blister on the top of my ankle (yep the top), I keep getting blisters underneath my sports bra where it rubs my chest and last but not least I had one complete circle of irratation around my waist just from wearing a pair of gym pants that had elastic in them! To your question though, as long as we take the proper caution I assume that we just have to adjust. It makes it difficult though. Hope it gets better for ya!0

When I trained for a marathon in 2005 I used Preparation H on my feet. Aside from finding it kinda funny every time I used it, the pain meds in the ointment stopped the blisters from hurting and let me build up callouses. You just put it right on the blistered area (works best on a blister that has popped) and rub it in a little to get the meds in deep (this part kinda sucks). Five min later, you're good to go. I did a 10 mile jog with open blisters the size of dimes on my heels and just under big toe and didn't feel a thing. You have to clean really well when you're done with your run tho. Good luck!0

I love my Skechers resistant runners. They are made lower in the back so I don't find myself getting ankle blisters when I run. On that note, I also read somewhere to apply mouthwash to blisters to heal them faster...but I am yet to try this trick. Maybe give it a go!0

For the back of the heels, there's a way to tie your shoes differently...

Sorry to the OP, not sure what to tell you. (0 -
If you're going to run this avidly, I think it's worthwhile to go to a runner's store (I'm thinking Marathon Sports but don't know if you have that where you are) where a person will actually watch you walk, listen to how much/how far you run, and then get you the best pair of shoes. While you're at it, ask them about socks.
The best pair of shoes I have owned thus far were ones where I had someone watch me walk and run on a treadmill and then get the pair of shoes he thought would be best (Nike Lady Zoom Structure Triax+).
You might also consider the "shoes" that make it feel as though you're running in bare feet (which don't require socks).
Also, there may be some truth in giving the blisters time to heal and letting the skin on your feet toughen up a bit.0 -
It might also be the style of shoe you're wearing, and you may need either really thin socks or thicker socks. I played tennis through high school and some college, and we ALL dealt with blisters. So much so that even the guys were going and getting pedicures! Here's some tips that helped me out:
- Break in your shoes. Walk around in them constantly (when you've got the time). If that doesn't work, then maybe try a different style.
- If you're using thick socks and it's not working, try really thin ones, and make sure they're a little higher instead of ankle socks that could slip and cause your shoe to rub and give you blisters.
- BAND AIDS!!!! Huge band aids that cover your entire back heel are a god send. That liquid skin stuff is weird and doesn't work. Of course with sweat they might slip off, but if they're big enough and your sock covers it, then you shouldn't have a problem.
- I was told in high school that if you eat blueberries it helps with blisters. I don't know if it's true or not, but it couldn't hurt!
- Annndddd just because you deserve it, get yourself some pedicures!
Good luck with the blisters. I remember how horrible they were, but think of them as battle scars0 -
I get blisters with every single new pair of shoes I buy. Never fails!0

I really don't think its your shoes. That is where my hubby gets his blisters too. I bought Kevin Wright Sock Cool Mesh II. Maybe try the next size down. Plus there is a way to tie your shoes that reduces friction too. Its really hard to explain in print but here goes...At the top of the shoe lace holes, there are those to holes that most of us never use. If you loop the lace through those holes and then, loop what is left of the lace through the loop you you just made and then tie your shoes, that really helps cut down the friction. I have to do that with my shoes. I hope you understood what I wrote, because it is really hard to explain. I wear Nike socks that are tight and thin and have a huge elastic band through the arch of the foot, and I have yet to have a problem with them. I hope that helps. Remember, many runners duct tape their arches to prevent this problem too.0

I walk 20 miles for charity almost every year, and the best blister-prevention advice I ever got was to rub your feet down with vaseline before you put on snug-fitting, but breathable (cotton) socks. Not so much that your feet are gloopy & sliding around inside your shoes, but enough to provide a friction barrier between your sock & foot.
I swear by it. I don't know if that's like Body Glide (never heard of it), but it's worth trying.0
