I am in love with a smoothie mix called Concord Banana/ Chocolate Banana mix. It comes in a packet and has 3 servings. You add banana, milk, and ice and its yummy. And for added protein, you can add some reduced fat peanut butter.0

I do the same thing. I use whatever fruit I have on hand. Frozen fruit make it nice and thick. I also use almond milk. Lowers the cals too.0 -
I LOVE using GREEK vanilla or plain yogurt with my smoothies as well, for added protein and they are SO good and filling. My favorite is Mango-strrawberry-banana with yogurt
Or blueberries - vanilla greek yogurt and strawberries0 -
I have been using the Yoplait Smoothie Mix. I like the Strawberry Banana and Mixed Berry varieties. All you do is add 1 cup of milk to the packet (two servings) and blend. Delicious!0

thank you so much for these! A lot of you mention frozen fruits though, does it matter if its fresh instead?!0

I need a great deal of protien in my breakfast smoothie otherwise I get hungry later on:
I use NECTAR – brand name (whey protein)
I scoop vanilla NECTAR
12 to 16 oz fat free milk
½ cup to ¾ cup frozen fruit
1 pkg any flavor Emergen – C
Any whey protien is good. I just really like the NECTAR brand. You can get it cheap via amazon.com
p.s. I use fresh fruit too. I just add some ice cubes to make it super cold.0 -
I own a book called the smoothie bible and one of the things it says is that if you use fresh instead of frozen it just won't be as cold or icy. The smoothie bible is amazing, I got it two years ago and it gives vegetable and fruit smoothies.0

I like to use frozen, because then you don't have to add ice to make it cold! My favorite recipe:
1/2 banana
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
dollop of non fat greek yogurt
1/4 cup dry oatmeal
2 tablespoons whole flaxseed
1/2 scoop chocolate whey protein
splash of soy milk
^^ super healthy, and you'll be full forever0 -
What is the texture like of that smoothie? I seem to have a problem with too chucky of smoothies0
-
1/2 c frozen mixed fruit,
1/2 c low sodium v8
1/2 c plain nonfat yogurt or greek yogurt
2 scoops Vi Shape meal replacement powder
Peel your own bananas, freeze them and have fresh frozen fruit!0 -
A favorite of mine:
1/2 frozen Banana
1/2 cup chocolate soy milk
1/2 cup light soy milk
1 tbsp peanut butter
(about 250 calories)
Blend this, and it gives you the fruit from the banana, protein from the peanut butter, and keeps you full for a couple of hours. Another favorite of mine which is really low in calories:
hand full of spinach
1/2 grated carrot
small wedge of watermelon or pineapple
about 5 frozen grapes
water and ice
(about 75 calories)
blend together, and add more water depending on consistency. If you blend it long enough, it gets really smooth, and you taste the sweet fruits, and not the spinach at all.
Yum!0 -
I like the oatmeal in my Vi Shakes!0

the texture of the protein/oatmeal/flax smoothie is excellent, but I think because I use the bullet to blend which gets rid of any chunks, and the oats and flax add just a bit of crunch. You don't need to do any chewing though!0
-
My favorite is:
45 g frozen raspberries/blackberries/blueberries
90 g frozen strawberries
1/2 c. plain Kefir (or plain greek yogurt)
1/2 c. diet ginger ale
Calories | Carbs | Fat | Protein | Sodium | Fiber

It is a little tangy and a little sweet, not too cloying. Perfect for a morning on the go!0 -

1/2 cup each of blueberries and pineapple
1/2 banana
1+ cup of spinach
1 cup of Passion Tea
The tea takes it to a whole new dimension and its dairy free!0 -
Chocolate soy milk + banana + ice. You can also add some peanut butter if you want.0
