Weight/Fat Loss with Spin and Barre Classes? (Flywheel Sports)

Hello!
I just signed up for a Flywheel Sports membership. (A spin and barre studio) I have been going for a week straight alternating between flywheel and flybarre every other day, with a rest day on Sunday. I am addicted and love both classes so much! I feel great, but the scale hasn't really budged. (Have about 40 pounds to lose) I have been consciously trying not to eat simple carbs and sugar, but haven't been perfect with that. I have a membership for 3 months, just looking for advice on whether it is worth it or not, as it is very spendy. Look forward to hearing from you all! Any tips on how often I should spin vs barre, and eating habits are very appreciated. So fed up with this extra weight!

I love spin, never tried barre.
I spin mon-fri, I also run intervals on spin days and lift m,w,f. I eat mostly high protein/high fiber/moderate fat/lower carb and have lost about 40 lbs. I'm at a healthy BMI now, but want to maybe lose 10 more lbs, so I've been trying to keep a closer eye on my diet (which is how you'll lose those 40 lbs, BTW).
Good Luck!0 -
Are you weighing all your foods?
"trying not to eat simple carbs and sugar" will not make you lose weight. You must consume less than you burn. In terms of weight loss, it doesn't matter what you eat, but how much of it. You could lose weight on a pizza diet, and gain weight on a chicken and broccoli diet.
I'm a fan of Barre, as I was a ballet dancer for 10 years. I would add in weight training though.0 -
@lmjohnson110 how long have you been eating that way and how often do you Spin? Also what kind of lifting are you doing?
@ASKyle I do not weigh my foods, but I am good at portion control. I may be tracking my calories burned incorrectly though. I just go off the App that gives me a range. I am also not religious about writing down food/workouts. Thanks for the advice.0 -
I started going to Turbo Spin-- like flywheel, different name. There isn't anything that pushes me like that. I buy one class a week, in addition to my gym membership. It kicks my butt, and I'm hoping its kind of like a nice sure-thing calorie blaster once a week. The report told me I burned 722 calories at my class today. And I believe it! My heart was practically bursting out of my chest at times.0

Weight loss happens in the kitchen. The classes you're taking are for fitness. You can't out-exercise a bad diet.0
