Is it okay to work out again tomorrow?

I'm still a little bit sore from my strength training yesterday, but I've planned on doing another workout tomorrow. I'm not in any pain, just a bit of soreness. It won't be doing any harm for me to lift again tomorrow will it?

As long as its not the same muscle group then go for it. But if it is the same, you need to give your muscles adequate time to repair themselves0

I was always told you need atleast 24 hours for muscle to repair itself and to see the benefits so now if i do a full body workout i only go everyother day, if i wana to go consecutive days i do lower one day and upper the next. saying this before i knew the above i did all over body everyday and never had no problems, but maybe i was lucky?0

Depends on the workout. If you worked the muscle group till exhaustion, then 3 days rest is needed. A good workout for 4 days a week might me Chest/Shoulders/Triceps Mon./Thurs. and Back/legs/Biceps Tues./Fri. Core-strengthening daily (recovers quickly). take weekends off. this gives each major group a good work out and rest.0

Nope, in my opinion, the best way to beat soreness is to workout more. With that being said, don't workout the same muscle group, and you should be fine..0

depends on what you are doing? if you are body building then its important to rest in between workouts to allow your muscle to repair themselves.
if you are lifting to burn calories then dont worry about it.
if you want to build muscle you need to eat..if you want to burn fat and keep muscle then you must lift and eat less0 -
I work through the pain. After warming up a bit, I become less sore and feel I can last longer. I make sure I get some protein in after working out.0

On my sore days I like to toss in a little light Yoga Stretching. :happy:0

I too do whole body when I hit the gym I do it in intervals and I mix it with cardio.. this way I can work out a bit everyday with out over doing it (most of the time) which keeps me in the habit and because cardio and weight training compliment each other as far as weight loss and getting stronger/building stamina go its a win win for me. Everyone is diffrent however and figuring out what works best for you is all trial and error.. combined with a bit of research. BUT rest is KEY to a healthy lifestyle.. You have come so far and I am confident you will find the answer that best suits you in time
Keep up the great work!0 -

If you're talking "yesterday" and "tomorrow" then today would have been the day between. Yes, it's fine to work on the same muscle groups every other day. In my experience, when I've overdone it a bit, the day after I hurt a little, the second day I'm in even more pain. Be ready for that tomorrow morning! Stretch those muscles before you start to work out and then do what you're comfortable doing. Over time, you'll notice they won't hurt as much (and then it's probably time to add more reps and sets!). Good luck!0 -
You won't build muscle unless you work through the pain. Work out again tomorrow. You need to make sure you are working out correctly by alternating the muscle groups. The worst thing you can do is sit back and do nothing, even when you are sore...muscle through the soreness and you will see results. TRUST ME! I didn't get definition and muscles with a very low BF% by sitting on the couch.0
