I am eating approx. 1000 calories per day. I am older, 66 but not sedentary. Active, work, but instead of losing weight, I at a standstill or gaining. I do weigh daily which is possibly a bad idea, but it isn't uncommon for me to gain 1-2 lbs after eating 700-950 calories total the previous day.
Frustrated

It's not really a day-to-day thing. What you eat Tuesday doesn't necessarily reflect on the scale on Wednesday.

Everyone loses differently. I don't lose as fast as the math calculators say I should. They say I should lose 1.8 pounds, but I lose .3 pounds. It happens. Those things are just computers doing math. It doesn't cover every single person.

Stick with it for a while and see if you lose some. Even if we lose slowly, it's still losing! :)

The recommended minimum for females is 1200. What calorie goal did MFP give you?

I'm surprised MFP is letting you "finish" the diary on that stupidly low number of calories...

Are you weighing your solid food with food scales, measuring your liquids with measuring cups/spoons, and have you double-checked that the MFP entries that you are using are correct?

If you're active, you're going to need more than 1000 calories to fuel your body. But as everyone said, you also have to make sure your logging is accurate. Do you use a food scale?

OP - do you use a food scale to weigh all solid foods? You are eating more than you think. No way you are gaining weight eating 700-900 calories a day …..

I'm close to your age (I'm 70) and MFP put me on 1200 cals after I put in that I'm mostly sedentary. But I either walk or do gym workouts 6 days/week. I have lost 10.6 lbs in the past 3 months. It's slow but definitely doable. I do weigh and log everything everyday. Even with one relaxed day per week - I have still managed this loss. You can do it even at our age. It's not magic just CICO. Hope this helps you.
