What motivates you to work out?

What motivates me besides wanting to be healthy is I want to have a child. What about you? What makes you get up and workout? Thanks for sharing!

I don't care to die young or live a life with increasing health problems that can be mitigated with exercise and life long fitness.

    Also... I like running.

For me its less about motivation and more about enjoyment, I ride my bike as many days as I can after work, it relieves the stress of the day and gives me a feeling of freedom, I ride an average of 18 miles a day more on the weekends and holidays. I think if your workouts encompass something you really enjoy doing you really don't need to motivate yourself to do it.

Mediocrity sucks. I hate the idea of being average- or mediocre. So yeah- harder stronger faster- anything to push myself beyond being "average"

So you just want to be better than others? It has nothing to do with where you are at personally as long as you are ahead of most other people.

I am getting married in a couple years and it may be a ways away, but i want to feel good trying on dressing and walking down the aisle. I do not want to be self-conscious about my weight on my big day.

I'm not rich like a rockstar, hung like a porn star, smart like Hawkins, funny like Steve Martin, or talented like Federer, or topping hot lists like Cavill.

I can, however, workout to try to improve myself physically, emotionally, and mentally.

Mostly I just enjoy it! A few days without running, and I can become a bit b**chy.

BUT.....when it's very cold, or hot, or wet, or I'm just feeling lazy and want to sleep in, knowing that I have a race to "train" for helps get me going. Plus I enjoy wine, and ice cream - working out makes it easier to enjoy them!

I want to feel better. I have had five kids and my body is a real let down afterwards. Exercising makes me feel better about myself and slowly my body is coming together after my last child, who is 3 yrs old.

I want to be fit and healthy. Also exercise helps immensely with my anxiety and depression.

Knowing full well I'm feeding the troll here- what if I did.
What if I DID say I wanted to be better than others?

what are you going to say to me then?

At the moment, it's knowing that it's the only time of the day that I get to myself. It's 'me' time, time out from work, my baby, my husband. It's something that lets me take care of myself, because I'm normally busying taking care of others or meeting other peoples needs. It's a stress relief. It makes me feel positive and strong.

I'm sorry. That was rude of me to say that, let's just make peace. I will not comment on your posts if I have nothing constructive to say.

Couldn't have said it better myself.
