I need to lose 10 kg of my current weigh. I am planning to start with 30 Day Shred. Has anyone tried it?
Would like to know about some experiences and reviews. Thanks

Are planning to eat at a deficit while you do it? If yes, sure.0

The workouts are fine and are free on YT (except maybe level 3 - I think it wasn't on there last time I checked but it could be now).
The diet program is silly. I'd just make sure you are eating at a reasonable deficit and getting enough protein.0 -
my profile pic shows my results day 1 and day 20 I am doing 90 days all together and will post another pic once I get to day 60 I have lost 12lbs0
-
oh I dont follow the diet plan0

I tried it and it kicked my butt. From what I hear from others, it works and it is great for beginners. Good luck!0

I'm on level 3 right now and I've gotten stronger and more fit. I burn at least 200 calories which helps with calorie deficit, which in its turn helps with weight loss. So yeah, it works0

What is YT?0

It's a decent workout, I tend to get bored by doing the same thing everyday though. If you stick to it and eat sensibly while you're doing it, you'll notice a difference within a week or so, but that applies to all workouts, there's nothing that makes this one special. I'd say give it a try, see if you like the routine of it, if not mix it up with other workouts.
Wouldn't recommended if you got knee problems though, there's a lot of lunging involved.0 -
I just finished day 6 of level 2 and honestly? Yes it does work. I've lost weight and my pants are already getting more loose. I follow that and combine it with a few days of cardio a week and have seen results. However, you do of course need to eat at a calorie deficit. I was a complete beginner when I started and it is tough at first, but you soon get into it and see improvements fast.0

Yes... if you: 1) Eat at a deficit 2) Do the work
It probably won't make you lose 10kg for the first time you do it, but it's exercise. Any exercise combined with a calorie deficit will help you lose weight.
I've done it 3 times. I don't know how much weight I lost doing it (I wasn't weighing myself at the time, just looking to be more fit). The first round I was barely able to use 2lbs weights. By my third time doing it, I was using 7lbs and 10lbs weights. It does work. It led to me doing Ripped in 30, Body Revolution, and now I'm completing Insanity for the first time. (Two more weeks until I'm done!)0 -

This.
It won't work if you eat the same or more calorie than you burn.
It will work if you eat less calories than you burn.
It's your choice.0 -
Thanks a lot everyone for the wonderful replies.
I l start it from tomorrow. Looking forward to share my success story soon.0 -
Yes it does, if your eating less calories than you burn obvi. It isnt super fun, Jillian gets on my nerves and you have to make sure you do the moves right not to stress your knee joints. Its great for losing inches though!

Work for what exactly? Weight loss happens in the kitchen, JM is for fitness.0

*Anything* works so long as you maintain a Caloric Deficit while doing it, right?

I did it and enjoyed it. Level 3 was intense. I liked it because it was short and effective.0

I used it when I first started, and that's exactly what I liked about it. 30 minutes is easy to commit to, & easy to fit into a day. The intervals are also short, so it's all very doable for someone new to exercise (who's in reasonable health, I mean). There's a bit of resistance, it gets your heart rate up, I think it's good for hitting basic fitness targets. I found her style encouraging, too.0 -
Caloric deficit for weight loss. Exercise to help the deficit and for health.0

i don't know if its because I hate working out besides, pilates, lifting, and swimming... BUT I can't really get passed the warm up. Not because I can't handle it but idk I really don't like it haha.0

Lots of things will cause you to lose weight.
Most of them, including the Jillian Michaels money making scheme, will ULTIMATELY lead us to a cycle where we yo yo weight wise.

It's a good program for fitness. I did it a few years ago and was able to do things like a pushup for the first time in my life. Jillian can get on your nerves day after day so I worked out with thew volume off.

Cal Deficit to lose weight....exercise to get fit.
The burn on the shred isn't high enough to put a big dent in your cal budget 100-250cals per training depending on your stats and the level. But it does get you muscles, heart and lungs pumping.
I did the shred and a few of Jillian's other workouts, but I followed my own diet. I love the combination of strength cardio abs in the moves. They are very effective. I've moved on to other things. Discovered the Bellicon Rebounder and do similar circuits on the trampoline. Arnita Champion is my go to trainer on you tube for that. She is a tough cookie, just like Jillian and her girls ;-) Both of them combine working small and big muscles for a better burn.0 -
I'm on day 3 of level 2 and I can feel the health benefits a lot. I think it's a good overall workout as it's not only cardio or not only toning. And for 20 minutes a day I think it's time well spent. also I agree about Jillian's voice getting annoying after a while so I mute her, and have the TV on instead.0

Hee hee...yeah her voice can be annoying, but she sure keeps me working my a** off and keeps me focused on my form.0

I LOVE Jillian Michaels! I have tried several DVDs, including this one. I got up to level 3 and got bored. I did notice it was helping me to get stronger. What I usually do so I won't get bored is I will walk/jog 3 times a week, ride my stationary bike 3 times a week and do a circuit training or another workout dvd at least twice a week. By doing all that exercise and eating 1200-1450 cal. a day for me,(being 5'4) that has helped me lose 33 pounds in 4 months. Which is great for me because my body is soooo difficult to lose weight especially with having PCOS. Of course, you have to eat healthy along with the workouts and the weight should come off! Ever since I've tried NO MORE TROUBLE ZONES dvd by Jillian, I can't seem to go to another one because in love it so much! It makes my abs burn, quads and hammys sore like I'm actually soingg something! Sorry such a long post! Lol! I hope this helps. Good luck with your journey!0

Oh, I forgot to add that no more trouble zones takes about 56 minutes to do. But it's definitely worth it. At first I could only do half of it.0

Hey thanks for replying. I too have pcos and I know how difficult it gets to lose weight. My body has tendency to gain weight really fast. I have started walking around 4 to 5 kms five times a week and I am going to start 30day Shred soon. Thanks and all the best.0 -

I really enjoy this workout. I just started doing it again this week, but in the past, I would do it a few times a week, as soon as I get home from work. That keeps me in the mood to be healthy, so I eat nutritious dinner. I go for a 45 minute walk after I clean up the kitchen.0
