Women in our 30s

Hi there! I'm looking around on here and finding lots of younger women/men that don't really have the same weight issues. SO....Are you in your 30s like me, fighting to lose weight and just gain overall health? My old'er' knees don't really let me run anymore, so that's out for cardio. I can get on other machines, DEFINATELY no stairs! I feel like walking isn't ever enough, no matter how much I do.....ok, I get bored after about 45 mins. I live in the south, so working out is almost indoor mandatory this time of year. I also have very skinny kids at home, and a very 'fit' husband, so the willpower must win....no way to "not bring junk food into the house" for us. We eat healthy for the most part, although I do soccumb to an occasional binge on the junkfood! I think I covered it all...OH I'm looking to lose about 20 more lbs, but also just be healthy and avoid as much "middle-aged" bad health as possible. I'm a firm believer in healthy eating to prevent LOTS of diseases that are plagueing our country these days!

PS - Please be positive...if you don't like what I've said or anyone else here, politely bow out! Thanks! :)

While it's true that our bodies slow down physically as we get older, I don't know that I believe it to be that much harder to lose weight and gain health in our 30's. I'm turning 39 next month and I am the healthiest I've ever been in my life, despite health issues like hypothyroid, early menopause, and some other things. I only wish I'd stopped making excuses earlier in my life so I would have had more time to enjoy my health.

I am also in my 30s, "former" athlete, and see the difficulty of losing weight at the same rate I used to. We can do it though! Feel free to add me and we can keep each other motivated!
