So I dropped 11 LB's over 3 months. Now I am at a Plateau. I hear weight loss happens in spurts. Can anyone please share their experience in this matter? I dropped from 165 to now 149.5..but it hovers between 149/ 150 for a month now. I am excercising, eating right, counting calories, strenght training, yoga, no sugar, ton of water.... Help!!! and Thank you in advance!! Also feel free to friend me to grow the community

Do you weigh your food on a scale?

A plateau is 8-10 weeks. How long since you've had no loss?

Also, can you open your diary?

If you open your diary we might be able to offer insight. Otherwise, tighten everything up. Logging consistency, weighing your food, etc. Sugar intake is irrelevant if it fits into your goals.

The most common problems we see come from underestimating calories eaten and overestimating calories burned.

Opening your diary might help to get you more specific advice if you're comfortable doing so.

You're logging everything you eat? Including condiments, cooking oils, veggies, cheat days, etc? Are you using a food scale, measuring cups, or eyeballing your portion sizes? Most people can be off in their estimates by several hundred calories when they eyeball portions. Measuring cups are better, but a food scale is going to be the most accurate.

And make sure that you've calculated your calorie goals appropriately. Remember that these are just estimates. You may need to play around a little to find what works best for you.

If you're exercising and eating back your earned exercise calories, be sure that you're using accurate estimates of your burn. MFP and gym machines have a tendency to overestimate certain activities, which can cause you to eat back more calories than you need to. Even a heart rate monitor isn't 100% accurate. If you're eating those extra earned calories it might be a good idea to eat only 50-75% of those.

And there's something to be said for the fact that some people just burn fewer calories than the generic equations predict. If you're an outlier due to size, age, or medical issues, then it may be best to check with your doctor or get a referral to a registered dietitian who can give you more specific advice.

Hello thank you so much to all who responded! I have openned up my diary (however I have not used it in a while, but I will start posting here as well to keep better track of my intake / output excercise burned. Any suggestions / comments are welcome! Again thank you. I don't measure or weight my food. Perhaps I need to invest in a scale for food :)

    Recalculate your calorie intake. http://scoobysworkshop.com/accurate-calorie-calculator/
You may be eating more than you know, or eating at maintenance.
Food scales help. Buy one and use it.

I would definitely start by logging your food. Weight loss is governed by the number of calories you're eating. If you're not logging or even measuring your serving sizes in any way, then it's likely you're eating more than you realize. At the very least, keeping an accurate log will give you more information to help you figure out how to move forward.
