Best footwear for Indoor rowing?

Any ideas what are the best types of trainers/shoes for Indoor rowing? I'm using an old pair of running trainers at the min but have read that they are too wide and possibly provide too much cushioning. Any info on what are the best types/brands would be much appreciated.

Running shoes/trainers have their purpose. For anything else, you want a flat, fairly firm sole. That goes for weight lifting, rowing, elyptical, etc.
Pair of converse all stars will do just fine ... if you want to get more fancy/expensive, look into something like a wrestling shoe. ( ex: http://playground.epicsports.com/prod/104734/adidas-wrestling-adult-youth-hvc-wrestling-shoes.html )0 -
Rowing machine. Tried just thick socks wasn't comfortable so bare foot probably won't work for me, thanks tho will have a look at those or something similar0
