Someone give me hope!

I just started getting back into shape after having my 3rd baby. I have been sticking to my calories everyday and walking my steps (I have a vivofit) but the weight isn't going down. I have been at the same weight for 3 days now. Between my second and third baby the weight came off so much easier. Now I am struggling to lose anything. Considering I want to lose about 30 pounds, I am starting to feel hopeless! Any advice?

Weight loss is not linear. You will not see your weight drop every day. Weigh your food, be active, take care of yourself and your kids.0

It's not going to be the same after each baby. Just keep at it and it will come off. It's only been 3 days!0

Agree with above, it's only been 3 days... What is it they say, 9 months to put the weight on, 9 months to take it off!
Are you nursing? If so, make sure to stay well hydrated and you need to allow extra calories for that.

I agree with everyone so far, if it's only been a few days then of course you're not going to see results. Keep with it and be patient with yourself. Don't get so frustrated because the weight doesn't fall off as quickly as you wish it would. It'll be okay, just don't give up.0

Give it time. It will happen. A three day stall is not much. Are you still breastfeeding? My weight loss was very slow while bf'ing. Plus you may not be getting adequate sleep and that could slow things down too.
Perhaps share your weight, height, activity level and calorie goal. There are many people who could help you judge if it is set up optimally for you.

Everyone is right, PLUS, you are older than when all the weight all fell off. As we age, it just wants to stay on us more. It doesn't mean that you can't, it just means that it will take a little longer than it did before. Stay with it, keep to a calorie deficit, and be honest. The weight will still come off, albeit a little slower than before.0

I always lost all my weight in between my 4 babies and it got a little harder each time (I think due to age). Still lost it, just took longer and a bit more work. I had about 35lbs to lose after my last and lost it after starting a running program. Found out I liked running and continued to train for a half marathon when he was 6 months old. Over a year later, I started Crossfit and the weight lifting helped me lose another 7 lbs in fat and build muscle (all while keeping my eating the same).
If you are still bf'ing, be patient. It affects each body differently. Didn't affect my weight loss, but I had to make sure I was getting adequate calories and nutrition to support both bf'ing and running. I talked with my boys' pediatrician and she helped me with that a lot. That meant I couldn't lose weight quickly, but at a slow, consistent rate.
All that to say, be patient and keep at it. It will happen over time.0 -
Be patient. It has only been 3 days.
Adjust your expectations. You aren't going to see a loss every day or every week. That is normal.
Don't make the scale your only measure of progress. Take body measurements once a month. Take a progress photo. Have a piece of clothing that you notice fits better. Notice your fitness level improving.0 -

If the numbers on the scale bother you, then don't weigh every day! Nobody, and I mean NOBODY will ever see a weight loss every single day! Weight fluctuations are absolutely normal.0 -
Thank you all! I am not breastfeeding anymore. My little guy just turned 1. I will admit I put too much emphasis on the scale. My husbands says that I am obsessed. Then when I don't see the results I quit. This forum helps though so I am confident this time that I will stay with it! I already feel more energized and just all together better than I did a couple of weeks ago! Thanks all!0

Even on a perfect diet you are going to see less than 1 lb loss in 3 days. Weight can fluctuate 2-5 lbs within a single day. Give it at least 2-3 weeks then possibly make adjustments if needed.0

Agree w/all the above with the following: check your sugar intake (natural & added). You would be amazed how much you are actually eating. I try to keep my between 45 & 60 gm a day--sometimes I go over sometimes I do less. I upped my calories cut back on sugar and have lost 11 lbs; took me a while (I'm older).0

please see your doctor and get labs especially with respect to your fasting blood sugar levels. Also seek an insulin sensitivity test to determine if you're over secreting this hormone. You very well may have developed an insulin resistant condition as it's highly common especially with our highly refined carbohydrate diets. Insulin resistance is a condition where your cells begin to ignore insulin signal to let sugar into your cells. It's usually caused when people even when thin over secrete this hormone in response to carbohydrates & sugars.
Insulin plays a few key roles 1st it lowers blood sugars, 2nd it stores body fat, and 3rd it can block Leptin which is a hormone that tells you to stop eating.
When you're insulin resistant it's an uphill battle but you can win the battle with a proper diet that addresses high blood sugar and insulin secretion. It's not uncommon for women to develop insulin issues during and post pregnancy.
If your body is swimming in to much insulin anything you eat even small amounts are being converted into body fat. But, you need to know if your labs show you fall into this category so have your doctor run the labs...0
