Hi
So I recently got a Fitbit to use alongside Myfitnesspal and I'm having trouble getting my head around what I should log where etc.
For example today I went on an hour walk which I logged with my fitbit, which stated I'd burned 480 cals. However this doesn't sync with MFP, which just states fitbit calorie adjustment is 171? Which is what I don't understand. When I'm exercising at the gym or at a class, I'm manually logging these on MFP, which on days I have a calorie adjustment of 0? So I'm just wondering what's the point of fitbit if I'm manually logging walks in MFP?
Sorry if I sound really thick, im just confused and need help! Btw my daily calorie goal on MFP is 1360 and I've put in lightly active if this makes any difference. Thanks

You should not manually enter your step/walking related exercise. Fitbit takes care of that and that is what the fitbit calorie adjustment on your MFP exercise log is about. There is a section here for Fitbit users with a great FAQ section that explains this in better detail.0

I just don't understand how ive tracked a walk on Fitbit which states I've burned 480 cals, yet this says 171 cals when synced in MFP?0 -
Agreed with the above. Never manually enter anything on MFP. Fitbit takes cares of that. All caloric adjustments are made by how much or how little (like going into "Settings" to enable adjustments) you do. There isn't a point to the Fitbit if you manually enter the data on here. Stick with the Fitbit on that. As far as logging, only log the things the Fitbit can't (some, like the Fitbit Surge, CAN log weight lifting and more as far as calorie burns go). All you should be logging on MFP is your caloric intake/meals and water if you choose.0

Connect your accounts at http://www.myfitnesspal.com/fitbit
Set your goal to .5 lb. for every 25 lbs. you're overweight: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/account/change_goals_guided
Enable negative calorie adjustments: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/account/diary_settings
Ignore your Fitbit calorie goal and follow MFP's, eating back your adjustments. No need to log any step-based activity—your Fitbit is tracking it for you. Log non-step exercise (like swimming or biking) either in Fitbit or in MFP—never both. Exercise logged in MFP overwrites your Fitbit burn during that time.
