I completed level 1 the last two days. Yesterday my quads were killing me, but I pushed through and did it again. This morning my quads and calves are extremely sore and tight, so much so that it hurts to walk. I'm wondering if I need to take a day off, or if I should just keep pulling through. Thoughts?

Keep going, you can do this! I am attempting 30 days straight! I am on level 2 right now and I think she is tryin to kill me but it is amazing what your body can do if you try and push it a little bit further than the norm. I am on day 3 of level 2 and I feel as sore as I did in the beginning of level 1 but to me, I take it as my body working in the right direction :). I am going to be honest though, I am scared for level 3.. lol.

    Good luck!

You will be sore, but it won't last, so keep on pushing through! It is such a huge reward (was for me, anyway) when you finally get to the end & are able to complete the whole workout! Keep up the good work!

The crazy leg soreness will be gone by day 5 or 6, just keep going!

I think level 2 is the hardest in terms of pure push it out effort, but level 3 is different, and really great. I've done 25 days straight now, including the last four days doing "triples" (ie all three of the videos in a row)

Make sure you stretch those out very well. If you decide to do it again today, I would suggest a longer warm-up. Maybe do the warm-up twice to make sure you're muscles are really warm and loose. Then at the end hold the cool-down stretches for longer than she does or do more of your own once the DVD is done. Don't pull a muscle!!

I am in the same boat as you but I am pushing through it. After the work out the pain is less (either that or I am just too tired to care). I know for me it is unrealistic to think I will be able to do it everyday for 30 days straight, but I figure in 40-45 days, I should be through it and ready to start all over.
Nothing is set in stone, if you miss a day you won't ruin the whole plan. Do what you can when you can.

I just finished Day 6 of level 1 and was sore about the first 4 days. I am trying to do 30 consecutive days - planning to start Level 2 on Sunday. The soreness lasted several days for me, but I kept doing the workouts and it helped. Today just a little tender in the calf. Good luck to you (and me too)!!!

Oh I started the 30 day shred yesterday - so only day 2 for me however I would push through it if I were you. Maybe do the modified moves instead as it's also important not to injure yourself. warm up the muscles well and make sure to really stretch when you're finished.

How is it going by the way? Have you noticed any difference so far?

Thanks to the motivation from you guys on this site. I just finished day 3! I agree that the muscle aches do feel better after, but I'm sure I'll be hurting at work tonight. Haven't really seen a difference yet, except for the fact the workout seems shorter each time. Must be building up some endurance.

I was just starting to get back into shape so it was really hard for me when I first started, after the first few days of level 1 i was even walking funny! I was SO sore but didnt give up. I have also wanted to make sure I was perfecting and really pushing myself in each level so I am actually on day 45 of the "30 day shred", today for the first time I will be hitting level 3. I hope im ready for this!!! I was stuck on level 2 forever. Unfortunately I never measured myself when I felt started, but weight wise I have lost about 5-7 pounds, I think the inch loss was better so I regret not measuring. Has anyone else done the shred longer than 30 days? Next on my list in the 6 week 6 pack abs, that is just waiting on my shelf for me :)

I also started that 30 day shred and I just love it !!
Jillian Michaels is genius making us sweat like crazy and pumping our muscles in 20 minutes !!!!!

But I read that she does not recommend working out if badly sore here is the link:

    http://www.everydayhealth.com/fitness/team/specialist/jillian/work-out-if-Im-sore.aspx

If it hurts even just to walk I would give it a rest.
It won't do much difference at the long term results except allowing your muscles fibres to repare as you get fit !
