I have been for a 5 mile run this morning and my steps have been recorded giving me extra cals but do I also record my run under exercise?

You could, and just put 1 calorie burned, if you want to record distance & pace?0

I don't bother counting steps and much prefer my runs to be automatically captured, calorie burn data included.0
