Does anyone else get a different amount of calories burned with this app versus another app. I weigh 235 pounds and just walked 5.1 miles this app shows me burning 4.3 cal per minute. Another app I have shows the same amount of time burning 8 cal per minute I have yet to find an adjustment in this app to correct the calorie burn per minute or distance

Calorie burns are just estimates (regardless of source). You’re best to just pick a reasonable figure and plug that in. If, after a few weeks, you’re not seeing the results you want, tweak your burn rate.

MFP is notorious for overestimating calorie burns while exercising. Thing is, no app is going to be completely accurate since everyone is different. I think FitBit has one of the highest rankings when it comes to accuracy, but it still has a margin of error of about 20% So keep in mind that every calorie burn is a "guesstimate" at best, so don't rely on them if you're really trying to micromanage calories.

they're just estimates...there's no way any data base could be bang on accurate.

Why does this ap give you calorie crefit for cardio, but not a weight workout?

    Hi brenda,
If you look in the cardio section for strength training you'll get a calorie credit. The weight training part is just a handy place to record what weight you're using and what reps you're doing.

Believe it or not (this took me awhile to accept), but weight lifting burns almost no calories. It's easier to assume it burns 0, and put the calorie side of things on your diet instead.
