Plateau's usually happen when your body becomes efficient at what you are currently doing. Sometimes to break it, it can be doing something as small as changing the order of the exercises you do- another great way to break it is to try something totally different. A lot of training/professional athletes do something in their off season that is totally different from their perfected sport to keep their muscles from burning out.. or plateauing. Michael Jordan played tennis in his off season. If you are usually a person that just runs and lifts at the gym, maybe try heading down to the basketball court and shooting hoops for cardio. I usually run, but let me tell you, no amount of running prepares me workout that I endure when I get into a pool to swim laps. If you have the time and money, maybe signing up for a class that you have never done and is outside of your comfort zone. Its all about diversity!
