Polar Syncs Steps+Running in 1 Day

I wear my M400 all day & night. On days that I run MFP shows that I have, for example, 31,249 steps at 1,385 calories earned) AND 172 minutes of running (at 1,571 calories earned). I ran 14 miles + walked a little (e.g., around town and the house, etc., but nothing to brag about). Isn't this like the sync is making a double entry accounting? Is MFP counting the former number as both walking and running steps, and the second as just running "steps"? If so, that definitely seems like a double entry accounting.

If it's like the V800, it separates your calories, training/activity/bmr, MFP only gives you credit for your training calories. All steps are counted as just that, steps nothing else. Do you have negative adjustments activate, click on it, it may explain it a little better.

I have the Polar M400 and I haven't seen any double entry accounting.

What Steve says makes sense with the numbers received by the M400, although I don't have negative adjustments activated.

Thank you both for responding and I hope you won't think I am too much of a dolt by asking for further clarofocation.

I do have the negative calories adjustment is set to on. Right now at 9 PM EDT, "Cardio Exercise" has two (2) entries that state the following (again, I wear the M400 all day and night, I ran 14 miles today, and I walked around like any normal person might while running errands or moving about one's home):

    Running 172 mins 1,571
Polar calorie adjustment 33,794 steps -85

    Does this seem right?

yes the running is when you were using the running profile, the adjustment is the difference between what MFP bmr and your bmr and activity calories from your polar. if you click on the polar adjustments in your exercise diary, it will show your projected calorie burn from MFP and you M400 with the difference.
