I love my morning coffee but I hear it's not very good to drink while trying to lose weight. Im guessing because of the cream and sugar.
Other than green tea which isnt my fav without loads of sugar what else can I supplement for a boost of energy. TIA

Have you tried coffee black? I balked at first but after a week or two it became normal and now I find anything but black coffee to be gross.0
-
I have never tried it black. That sounds gross lol. I could give it a try. I have to find a good coffee to drink it black.0
-
Haha, yeah when you're used to it a certain way black does not sound too good but like anything else you can adapt. I'm not a big fan of tea, I like some hot herbal teas rarely so I had no choice if I wanted something hot and caffeinated in the morning.0

I weaned myself off of overly sweetened/fattening coffee slowly to the point where I only drink it black now. I took away 1 Splenda every few weeks or so until I was drinking it unsweetened, then when I was used to that I bit the bullet and took away the soy milk too!0

I'll try the weaning. I just like some kind of flavor thats my thing.0

I have coffee with half and half everyday.,I factor the calories into my daily budget and log each cup. I don't use sugar so it is about 50 cal a cup. Worth it to me.0

there's nothing wrong with coffee...there's nothing wrong with putting some cream in your coffee...just log it...you have a calorie target...you can fit a lot of things into that target.
i personally prefer 1% to 1/2 and 1/2 and don't use sugar. I buy really good coffee and grind my own beans every day...too much *kitten* in there masks the awesomeness of the coffee...just a little 1% to cut it is perfect.0 -
I drink one to two cups daily. Mine end up being close to 105 wise with sugar/creamer. Thats primarily the only sugar that comes in. Is it garbage? Yes I know it, but im generally about 300-400 cal under per day. If you love it, keep it and take off the calories in other places. Caffeine by itself increases metabolism, it only becomes a bad drink when you add the stuff to it.0

I would murder someone if I didn't have my morning coffee.
I drink mine black with 1 sugar. Once you start buying better quality coffee drinking black isn't a problem.0 -
Torani Sugar Free Vanilla or Hazelnut syrup. I use 2 Tbsp in 24oz iced coffee. Zero calories0
-
I use fat free/sugar free creamer (2 TBS)...it has half the calories...and sugar free sweetener (4 packets)
35 Calories for 2 cups (so 1 TBS of creamer and 2 packets of sweetener a cup).
It doesn't taste as yummy but it's not horrible and is a good compromise instead of going from high calorie coffee or no coffee at all.
You get used to it.
I know sugar and creamer are not bad for you but I'm a shorty w/ not much to lose so I don't get many calories to play with.

The S'mores flavor is amazing. I've gone through 2 bottles already. I am addicted - I think it might have 5 calories. I add the S'mores syrup and some almond or almond/coconut milk to my coffee with a packet of pure via stevia or truvia.

I've lost a good amount of weight and drink coffee nearly every morning. I usually sweeten it with Stevia extract and either soy milk or almond milk.0

I've switched to black, except for the coffee at work. That needs a splash of half & half. Literally, just a splash, because I don't want the extra cals. You get used to it. I think it took 3 hours for me to drink my first cup of black.0

I'll try the weaning. I just like some kind of flavor thats my thing.
I make coffee at home in a press pot with 1 tbsp of skim milk and a scant tsp of stevia. I keep real vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon, and unsweetened cocoa in the cupboard by my pot, and concoct a variety of flavors every morning for less than 20 calories for a 16 - oz travel mug!

I've done well keeping my coffee... 4 or so cups a day here. Almond milk, and a little vanilla bean protein powder.0

I just work the cream into my day so I can keep enjoying it. Yum.
Instead of sugar, I use stevia drops to sweeten it a bit. Coconut cream is a slight sweetner too.0 -
I add almond/coconut milk. 15 calories, a little sweet and delicious.0

I have 2/4 of a cup full of black flavored coffee and add 1/4 of a cup of either mocha or vanilla iced coffee...did it today and help me over till lunch. MMmmmm its sweet and the iced coffee does already have creamer and suger added, but not too much0

I have kept my morning coffee with 2 Tbs 1/2 & 1/2 plus a little coconut sugar. It is yummy, I just factor in the calories and enjoy. ☕️0

I've tried full fat milk, almond milk, coconut milk all instead of half and half. By the time I add enough to make it as creamy as half and half, I still have at least 40 calories anyway. My coffee is around 80 calories with two tablespoons of cream and two packets of sugar in the raw. It's worth it. If I have one later in the day I might go to a nice cafe where I can get a good coffee and drink it black, or if it's worth it to me I'll have the cream and sugar again.0

I use the Torani sugar free sryup too.Ready2Rock206 wrote: »jenibethbu wrote: »Torani Sugar Free Vanilla or Hazelnut syrup. I use 2 Tbsp in 24oz iced coffee. Zero calories

Ohh, off to search Amazon now.0 -
If I get a cup of really good coffee, I can drink it black easily. I generally add 3 tsp of half and half and just a splash of milk - cools it down a little and gives just enough creamy flavor to be yummy. The Starbucks stuff I'm using up is not that great so it's better with more stuff in it but there's a local shop that has amazing coffee and I'll be buying from them in the near future.

I switched from whole to 2%in my daily latte and save 70 calories that way, but still get the protein and calcium. When I can't have that, I take my coffee with cream, and just log it. I am short and on a fairly tight 1289 calorie goal, but I can easily fit that in and it's worth it.0
