Rice

Okay so I'm a little confused when it comes to recipes and finding the calories. Especially when it comes to rice. I use basmatti rice and that 1/4 c for 180 calories. But thats not cooked.
I make a spanice rice with it. I use one cup of uncooked rice 720 cals, I fry it in cocunut oil, 125 cals for a tbsp, then I add stuff like garlic bell bepper and salsa. I use 2 cups of chicken broth instead of water to cook it which is 40 cals. I just dont know how to figure out the final calories per serving.
Is there some kind of recipe app or something. Also the brand of rice I bought from trader joes isnt on MFP.
Thank you in advance for any help

Under the food tab there is a recipe option.
If the brand of rice you have isn't on MFP you can add it - also under the food tab.0 -
Go to the RECIPES tab when you are in your food diary which will do exactly what you want.
Don't worry about the brand of rice, just use one that has the same cals as on the packet you have.0 -
Yes there is an app on here. It's under food diary, recipes. It will figure it out for you. Good luck! Your recipe sounds yummy!0

When I make something home made prepared from various different things I write all the values down. Then I add them all up individually and create a meal with the final cal, fat, sodium, carbs.....etc. for everything put together. Otherwise I would have to search or add a bunch of stuff in the database and that just looks too cluttered for my taste.0

You can add new foods to the database if you can't find it, and under the recipes tab you can enter all the ingredients and the amounts used. How many servings it makes and MFP does the rest for you. It's so easy and a wonderful way to get the nutritional info for the foods you love to make.0

Oh!!! How easy I see. Now I added my rice uncooked calories. I guess that doesnt matter because in the end it will calculate the servings. I figure 1 cup of uncooked rice cooks up to 3 cups of cooked rice so I said 6 servings. (meaning half cup.) I think thats right but please correct me if I'm wrong0
