I did it for a month and lost .1 kilo a day without changing my eating at all. The more steps you walk over ten k the more you lose. A little, slowly, but it really works!0

To see the calorie burns for steps....plug in the activity level for sedentary....and then plug in active. Depending upon your size....it's a couple to a few hundred calories.

I actually have a pedometer and I aim for 15k steps a day and sometimes I'll get closer to 20k. I don't know if it's using my pedometer or the fact that I'm eating at a caloric deficit, but it definitely helps me move more especially on my days off work, and I'm losing weight. I don't enjoy conventional forms of exercise as much. I think the idea of moving more definitely helps with weight loss, though, depending on what your activity level is, such as previously being sedentary. On a typical day at work I'm at about 7-8k. If halfway through the day I haven't reached 4-5k then I know I need to move more.0

Depends on what you eat and what other exercise you do, but as a change from a more sedentary lifestyle it can be extremely helpful. Just increasing incidental movement like that can make a big difference in how much you burn during the day without making you hungrier at all.0
