Cries of a picky eater...

This is going to sound really stupid, but I am the world's pickiest eater. I am struggling. To make this long story short, I am tired of eating baked chicken and vegetables every single day. However, I am having such a hard time finding healthy meals that I can stomach.

Does anyone else struggle with this or have any suggestions?

What type of foods do you like? I've found making homemade versions of my favorite foods work. I can also share some recipes if you're interested...

I have tried that before. I suppose I just need to look up alternate recipes and start pre-planning! The only meat I eat is chicken or hamburger and it's just hard for me to come up with different ways to eat them. Recipes would be great!

There are many ways to do chicken and hamburger, actually. But we need more foods you actually like.

Why not list the things you dislike so we can make suggestions that avoid them?

once a week try something new. a meat or veg or seasoning that you're not sure you'll like. don't pressure yourself to eat a whole serving, but at least try a small bite. there will be lots of fails, but also some successes. even picky eaters can find new foods to enjoy.

    I've been there.

    We definitely can help:
    List foods that you like:
    1 pizza
    2 pasta
    3 cherries
    4
    5
    6

Here's a few recipes that I've used that you can try. For all the chicken recipes, I replace whatever is listed with boneless, skinless chicken thighs. I've just found the meat to be juicier than breast meat. I've also submitted the recipes to MFP and the calories per serving are fine. Based on how much I eat, it tends to come out to under 500 calories per serving.

    Greek Marinated Chicken: http://www.budgetbytes.com/2013/06/greek-marinated-chicken/
    Coconut Cilantro Grilled Chicken: http://ifoodreal.com/coconut-cilantro-grilled-chicken-recipe/
    Pan Roasted Lemon Chicken: http://damndelicious.net/2014/02/01/pan-roasted-lemon-chicken/
Note: I've found that for each recipe, I use about 9 pieces of chicken thighs.

Though you've said that you like hamburger, is it the texture? Do you eat pork (ie. pork chops)?

    I'm 33 now.
I've only been eating vegetables, fruit and other foods (say lamb liver) since last year.

I started giving some fruit a try, and built from there.
So I suggest that you start trying some new food, even if it's something every two weeks, or every month.
Eventually you'll find new food you like, or even you really enjoy.

I still haven't managed to get through all my phobias, for example I don't "dare" to try tomatoes yet.
I will give it a go at some point, maybe I like them.
