You need carbs for energy. Its a balance.0

We had a speaker from Denver speak at our last leadership conference. She is part of the US Olympic training staff. She was really big on eating nutrient dense foods (a plant based diet - fruits & veg). These foods naturally have carbs in them. We quized her on the protein thing and her response was: "how many people do you know who have a protein deficiency?". She really encouraged a high fibre, plant based diet. Lots of spinach & arugula in my diet ....trying to add more veg, but it is hard..... Good luck!0

Too much protein can cause constipation. Your body can only consume so much protein at a time. Google it. Balance is key. I try to add lots of kale and spinach to my meals. Good fiber and almost no calories. Good luck0

If there's one thing my registered dietician reassures me of, it's that going over on protein is totally fine. It's not going to do anything harmful to the body. That said, you do want to make sure you eat enough carbs so that your body is well fueled. Like a previous poster said, it's all a balance.0

Depends on what your goals are... but as someone else pointed out -it's difficult to eat too much protein.
I switched my MFP macronutrients to 40% carbs (any less than this and you may feel fatigue), 30% fat (try to get from healthy sources), and 30% protein. I have to work to hit my 30% protein.
This is roughly about 1 gram of protein per lb of lean body mass. Why so much? Well, for me I want to build muscle. Muscles make me (women) sleek, sexy, tight, strong, healthy-looking - all things I want to be. Also, muscle burns fat - heck yeah!!!!
Of course, you have to lift HEAVY weights (like a man) to try to get muscles on a lady. Still in pursuit of this myself, but I'm only 2 months in... I'll get there someday.
So eat your fish, turkey, chicken, whatever! If you decide to supplement I love Biochem Sports Whey Protein powder!0
