I'm having that problem, but with carbs not fat. Interested in hearing what others say..

Maybe....as it really comes down to calories in versus calories out. When I did Jenny Craig, fat intake was pretty important to watch. I would try to cut down on your fat. Are you consistently over?

i have that same question but I think it goes like this...

the goals that fitnesspal give you everyday you should stay exact or under
for me, i am not too much looking at calories, i am looking at fats and carbs because i am a carb girl and trying to stay under both of those but in the meantime trying to stay under calorie goal too

i think if you stayed under the grams of fat and carbs u would lose more than just under calories because you are killing the fats per day. i am currently doing p90x and this is the second day and i have a heart rate monitor and calorie burner watch

one session will burn at least 700 calories yesterday i burned 730 and today i burned 844. great workout so u could eat more fats because when u work out the fats and carbs grams per day goes up

Most of the equation is calories in vs calories out, if you are under you will most likely lose weight. For health reasons, you might want to make sure these fats are coming from healthy sources like nuts, avocado and olive oil.

There are lots of things that go into whether you'll lose weight or not, so I can't really answer that question. But I can be pretty sure that eating way over on fat regularly isn't healthy. I wouldn't get all bent out of shape about a day that high, but if it's a regular thing, I would recommend adjusting.

I'm usually over on my fats too but way under my carbs and high on protein. I've been maintaining a 2 lb per week loss for the last 5 weeks, so I think I'm doing alright.

It would also help if you would make your food diary public. I have found that sodium and sugar (not from fruits) is a big obstacle for weight loss. But everyone is different so it might be something else. If you feel comfortable making your diary public, those people with more experience here could give you some good input.

What kinds of fats are you eating? If they are healthier fats from olive oil, nuts etc., it should be ok. It's probably better for you to go over in complex carbs or lean proteins, than in fat. I keep my fats low because I have a digestive disorder that makes it hard for my body to process large amounts of fat. I get physically ill if I eat too much in one sitting. Instead, I load up on carbs - my favorite food is pasta! Carbs aren't cool right now, but I've never had a problem with them, personally. I think if you are eating a lot of refined, processed carbs you could be in trouble, though. I prefer high-fiber, whole-grain, and fruits and vegetables, plus lean protein and low-fat dairy.
