Thanks for the reminder Chris. I am definitely guilty of being obsessed with the numbers. My clothes are falling off and all my veins are all visible and I'm still worried about what that number is and how I can keep it low. I really need to chill... LOL

Oh I am an accountant so I like the numbers as well! I still think that as long as you don't cheat yourself, skinfold measurements are a good indicator. Pics, overall measurements and skinfolds are my tools.

Although, pics can be misleading as well I reckon e.g. my current profile pic, I would say I was a tad hungover at this point in time, hence a bit dehydrated and looking a bit leaner than I normally do. But I'll take that when I can

Great message. Now if only we could look in the mirror and see what others see >.>

I am a size 14-16, but I look in the mirror and still see the size 26 I was. Any thoughts on how to work on changing that?

Hmm...that is tough. Suppose that is more of a psychological thing. I don't know if I can help as I think I have the same issue.

    Great read - thanks Chris!

I use a body fat caliper and myotape for my measurements - definitely gives you a no BS report on progress.

But this article gives a different perspective.

Great article. I don't think I will ever get my BF % measured, mainly because I, too, love numbers and get a little obsessed over them. Hence why my scale is hidden and I refuse to even weigh myself until the 15th of june, I'm just going off how my clothes fit. And I'm only measuring my inches every 15 days or so, so I don't get too discouraged.

At one point a few years ago I was at 18% BF, but I look back and it was too lean for my body type. So now I don't go off it, and just try to look in the mirror to see my progress.

Good article, very interesting read. I think we do all get way too hung up on the numbers, whether they're accurate or not..!
