Exercising and the possible flu/cold

Hi guys,

I've been trying to be good and exercise every day. I woke up with a very sore throat a few days ago. It is still sore, and now I have a bad cough, stuffy nose, and have been sneezing a lot.

I figured that my body would need my energy to fight the cold (although it might be allergies (?) ), and so I have not exercised since Friday (5 days now). But this also means eating less, to keep within the 1200cal/day.

But, is it better to keep exercising and eating more? Or just rest and eat less?

Thanks.

I read a study once that examined this. They found that working out had no profound effect on something like a cold. You just feel really cruddy and do not want to work out. I would just eat the same get your rest.

My ex mom-in-law would say to exercise & sweat it out... LOL. I have been fighting off a nasty cold this week and haven't had the energy to go for a walk. I figure the more I rest the quicker I'll heal and be able to get back to my exercising. :-) Hope you're better now.
