Just started having music again with my runs and I'm building a playlist. Here's what's on there so far:

    Disintegration - The Cure
    Paranoid Android - Radiohead
Don't stop me now - Queen
    Rearviewmirror - Pearl Jam
    It's called a heart - Depeche Mode
    Sabotage - Beastie Boys

That gets me round a 6.5Km run quite nicely. Need to get enough for 21Km by July!

I love Duran Duran! AAR Rock and The Clash are awesome, but I workout to either country music (I somehow get lost in it and don't focus on time/distance) or Hip Hop. . .gets my body moving! lol

Or most 80's that I can sing along with- people don't like when I sing aloud in the gym! Oops!

oh good call on the beastie boys...I must add.

I ahve more, but didn't list...I ahve about 200 on the list and just shuffle it
  • Thanks! There are some great tracks here I'll have to make a custom list and share.
Recently I've been listening to some of the NIKE running mixes. General Dance/ House/ Dubstep / whatever they call it these day, sort of thing.

Wouldn't be my usual cup of tea at 7:30 in the morning but AMAZING for getting you up for the day and the rhythmical hypnotic beats really help to find the zone while running. There are times when i look up and wonder where the last 5 minutes went. Perfect for a non-runner like me who usually is over aware of every step.

Oh and Beastie Boys, great shout.

Got a problem with my iPod so had to borrow my 13 year old son's instead! It made for a more intresting workout  Some I would happily listen to anyway (e.g. Eels); others not in a million years but proved a really good beat to keep going to (Eminem's Slim Shady on the exercise bike - who'd 've thought?)
