I started dieting in march and have dropped from 248 to 225 but have come to an abrupt halt. Which is my reason for joining mfp. The weight has dropped from legs, shoulders and bottom but I am struggling with the stomach area and just above. What exercises would be good to help with weight loss in this area? Looking for something I can do at home. I already use an exercise bike do pilates and low impact aerobics as well as sit ups with the help of wonder core.

Unfortunately as I understand it, you can't chose where you lose fat from... it comes off where it wants. All you can do is try to tone the muscles in those areas.

I understand that I can not chose where I lose weight from but there must be some exercises to help with toning and strengthening muscles in this particular area, other than what I am already doing.

Lift weights to strengthen your muscles. While eating in a deficit as an overweight beginner you'll be able to build a bit of muscle but that will eventually subside until you eat at maintenance or above. Building/strengthening specific muscles is possible but burning the fat off of specific areas is not.

I'd suggest using a full body beginner's plan. The book New Rules of Lifting for Women might be a good starting point for you.

Just to add--you can get stronger without adding muscle. They are not the same thing.
