Okay, so, about me... I used to weight 270. Then I lost 30 lbs using Nutrisystem. I gained 10 back when I quit. Then I got a personal trainer and lost 35 lbs. Then I moved and gained 15 back. Now I'm back on the weight loss kick, and I've lost the 15 plus another 5. And now I'm stuck. It's only been a couple weeks, but I'm stuck. I keep gaining and losing the same two pounds for the past week or so.

I heard about this zig-zag eating, and thought I'd check it out because I noticed that I do tend to lose weight on the days I've eaten over the 1200 calories a day MFP told me to eat. I also checked freedieting to see what my suggested zig-zag calorie intake would be. freedieting told me I should be eating 1700 calories a day for "extreme fat loss". That's a 500 calorie differences between what MFP told me. So... now I'm wondering if, because my body has been used to eating around 1400 calories because of the restrictions my personal trainer put on me and I (mostly) stuck with...if my body is in "starvation mode"?

What do you guys think? Should I try upping my calorie intake on certain days? Why are the calorie suggestions for MFP and freedieting so different?

Any advice/thoughts will be appreciated! Thanks!!

MFP does not take into account exercise. It does ask you activity level but when you exoercise and log that it will give you more caloreis to eat. The other site probably takes into account exercise from the get go so it automatically gives you those calories. Hence, the difference.

what kind of excercises are you doing? Maybe it will help to change the excercises. Instead of jogging go cycling...

Ahhh, okay. The idea about already adding in exercise would make sense. I have been really bad about exercise. I've only been doing about a half hour of walking or playing DDR, which isn't very intense. I probably should step this up, but I have no motivation for exercise right now. The first few times I worked out, I did not eat my calories, but now I am.
