What are your New Year's Resolutions?

Options
I have a ton, but I have always been one to aim high. They are:

1) QUIT SMOKING! (and today is my first completely smoke-free day).

2) Monday I will begin a new exercise routine and start over on MFP with a goal of losing 50 lbs.

3) Effective immediatly, I need to start being more smart about how I spend my money. Toward the end of 2008, I was nickel & diming myself broke too often.

4) Pay off my credit card balance.

5) Start making payments on my student loans (I have 2 years of school left, but I want to get a head start).

6) Clean my apartment everyday so the housework doesn't pile up on me.

7) Spend more time with my family or at least call them more often.

How about all of you?

    Great resolutions ladies...

    (1) Get this holiday weight off.
    (2) Organize hideously disorganized box of old family photos. Once and for all.

    Btw...
amunet07 - LOVE the art room! I'm thinking of making a little studio (somewhere) for my son who's suddenly obssessed with painting!

    Hi,
We have some common new years resolutions. I quit smoking a few months ago. I used the nicotine lozenges and found they were really helpful. Unfortunately, I have been packing on the pounds since then!
    My goals are as follows!

    1. Lose 20 pounds and keep it off!

    2. Establish a workout routine. Weights and cardio.

    3. Finish painting my bathroom.

    4. Landscape my backyard.

    5. Payoff credit card debt.

    6. Travel more.

    7. Study hard.

    8. To stop sweating the small stuff and enjoy life ( and maybe meet a nice guy :blushing: )

Why is it that people gain weight when they stop smoking? Is it actually from the cigarettes/nicotine, or is it that you tend to eat more to fill the void that not smoking causes?
