Been doing quite well at the gym with running in the last 2 months. Got my time for 3km down to 15 mins - and then I suffered RKnee.

Annoying pain when I descend steps.

My hubby had it, then the doctor gave him a knee brace and he's feeling all better.

    I feel your pain!
I was up to week 7 in the C25K app that I was doing, when this happened to me.
Lots of ice, ibuprofen, and a knee brace made the pain go away, eventually.
I'm getting ready to start again.

i would get some Percocet... Off the streets though, it's usually stronger

It would be best to see your doctor. If you try and mask the pain with Percocet (which is bad advice) you could make whatever condition you have worse.

Not sure if you're here for advice, or just to share in general, nonetheless I would highly suggest you cut back until it goes away and slowly ease back in.

I've had runners knee happen twice when training for 1/2 marathons... pain around kneecap when I was running and then walking downstairs was almost impossible.
I completely stopped training (off it for about a week or two) then eased back in, and it was much better... just not so swell on inclines but I kept those to a min during training.

This is opposed to other's who I've seen continue to train for 1/2's and fulls through the pain, only to end up benched completely or requiring surgery because they didn't take a break when they should have.

Great job on improving your time! Just be sure to listen to your body and give it rest if it needs it.

Runners knee is frequently a case of too much, too soon, too fast.......maybe getting down to 5 min kms was over doing things.

Check out some of the hip & glute exercises on Runners Word & (after you've taken some time to recover) slow down!
