Keep hydration at balance and make sure you stretch slow before and get a light start so you can keep the blood flow going then you're off. Afterwards you can choose to stretch afterwards but that's upon you, I don't nor never do it but I'm not against stretching beforehand! Drink a Protien Shake and fill up on clean whole foods.0

you shouldn't stretch cold muscles ever.
Go for a 5min warm up walk/slow jog.
I don't stretch before or after a run...I walk to the trail and walk back from it...that's it...I've never had an issue.JoelHumphries wrote: »Keep hydration at balance and make sure you stretch slow before and get a light start so you can keep the blood flow going then you're off. I agree with don't stretch before. I walk to the start of my run, run, walk back home, stretch, eat.0

I do a warm up mile at the start of my run - it's the slowest mile I do then I always cool down with a light 2 minute jog and stretch at the end if it's a long one (over 6 miles at the moment). Good muscles to stretch are the obvious - quads, hamstrings, hip flexors and calves and the not so obvious - arms, upper and lower back, abductors and adductors (inner/outer thigh). I love a good stretch at the end of a run....lets me reflect!0

Agree with not stretching cold muscles. Your pre-run warm up should be a short walk or light jog (usually I just run my first mile really slow). I don't stretch immediately after a run, but I try to incorporate yoga into my weekly routine as often as possible. I also foam roll in the evenings while watching TV. These two things help to keep my muscles limber.0

Dynamic warm up before running

Stretching afterward is optional, I just do a cool down walk after my runs now and feel much better since i started doing that rather than stretching after.0 -

I don't stretch before a run but I do hamstring and quad stretches when I get back. It helps me get my breath back too..xx0

Your warm up should last for around 5-10 minutes and should definitely include dynamic stretches. Once you've finished your run try to cool down with an easy jog/ brisk walk and some static stretches.

Doing these will make sure your muscles perform at their best and will help to make sure that you don't get injured. Hopefully this helps!-1 -
