Who uses one of these? Pros/cons? Do they sync effectively with MFP? I got rid of my Jawbone UP because it wouldn't sync no matter what I tried.

I have a Fitbit Charge HR and a Jawbone UP2. Charge HR has a heart rate monitor, so it's more accurate than UP. Fitbit challenges are more fun than UP duels, and Fitbit customer service is better than Jawbone's.

You can learn more in the Fitbit Users group: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/1290-fitbit-users

Cons: Fitbit doesn't have an idle alert, offer insights based on your data, or challenge you with "today I will."

I just got a Fitbit Charge HR, and so far, I'm in love with it. It's not entirely perfect, but it's pretty close. It syncs with MFP just fine, but you have to be careful to program your exercises into the app or it'll report all activity as steps. I love that it tracks my sleep, although I hate what it has to say about it. I have to work on getting more if I want to function properly. i sometimes wonder if the count for "calories burned" and exercise heart rates are correct, as a machine will say one thing, and the Fitbit will say another. I know that machine calories can't be fully trusted, but I lost forty-one pounds in four months without the Fitbit, so one of them is a little off. I also hate how easily the screen can be damaged. I found a fix for that on Reddit after I made a little scratch the second day I had it, and ordered some screen protectors on Amazon. Other than that, I absolutely love it. The challenges are great motivation for moving more and getting more exercise throughout the day.

I was on the wait list for the Jawbone UP3, and man, am I glad I canceled that pre-order. The reviews aren't great, mostly because the UP3 didn't live up to the hype. Every review I've come across says the Fitbit Charge HR is much better. The only thing that beats it is the Fitbit Surge, which does a lot more. I wanted it, but the price was too much for me. Maybe next time.

Yeah the Surge looked great, if a little big, but at $300 here in Aus I just couldn't justify it. I picked up the Charge HR for $135 brand new and in Plum which is what I wanted.

I was going with the Charge HR or the Surge. In the end, after I read about how the Charge calculates distance (e.g., through stride length) I decided I didn't really need the GPS functionality, although it would have been cool.

I run and walk as my exercise, so this is a near-perfect device for me. It took a little trial and error, but once I had my stride length properly calibrated, the thing is extremely accurate in terms of calculating my distance (compared against my treadmill as the gold standard).

I had briefly considered the Apple Watch, but, obviously, too damned expensive.

I really like my charge HR. It's helped a lot in having me figure out trouble spots and times with eating and activity. Plus the activity monitor is awesssomme. No regrets here.
