Hubby and I are going out for frozen yogurt tonight... I've prelogged my day and have a few hundred calories to spare after dinner so that I can enjoy... But how do I log it?? I have no idea how to determine how much I'm eating and how many calories are in it...

Is it the kind you buy by weight?
Ask the person at the cash for nutritional info or go on the company's website.

Have you tried searching the database for frozen yogurt? When I am in situations like this, I find the most similar database entry that I can and then use my estimate for the serving size. Since I don't do this every day, I know that if I am as accurate as I can be, it won't ruin my progress if I don't get it perfect for one treat.

Yes it's by weight... It's a small company though so I'm doubtful they offer nutrition info and they don't have a website... I'll ask though...

It probably has the same nutritional info as the chains. Enjoy!

should be easy. just ask the cashier to give you the weight and plug that into the formula. As others have noted, its nutritional info is probably close to other chains.

Most of the companies buy the yogurt from the same place.

This is one of the easiest things to enter in to MFP as you weigh it as you pay...

I weigh mine twice (the cashier is used to me now) I weigh just as plain yogurt, then after I add my fresh fruit toppings. I already know what the cup weighs so that is taken out, but then I can enter in my weights and be pretty close to exact.

I did ask to see the label of the flavor i wanted my first visit. They were more then happy to let me see the carton. I snapped a picture and added it when I got home.

Menchie's is a pretty popular froyo spot in my neighborhood. They also have tons of nutritional info on their site. You can use their macro info as a template and plan out what you are gonna get ahead of time. For example I would get a (0.5 cup) Original Tart which is 90 cal. You can always look up the cal count on strawberries, bananas, etc before you go in there. That way you don't go crazy with the toppings. jt65fxxu6hmz.jpg
