Is walking on a treadmill incline as good as running? I have a treadmill and was thinking about this.

They are all "good" in different ways. I personally find incline walking as difficult as running-but they are two different types of movements so it's kind of apples and oranges.

The incline definitely makes walking more intense.

when i run on a treadmill, i always put it at 1.0. when i walk on a treadmill i put it on 5.0 or 7.0 and walk at 4.0-4.5; just to give you an example; do what is difficult but do-able. walking keeps you in the lower fat burning zone. Just make sure you are breathing hard...i see too many people walking next to a friend at the gym chatting away...

When I want a good burn, I use 10 incline, 2.3 speed for a mile. That will keep your heart rate up and burn some much needed calories. If I Run I keep it set to 0 incline and run at 4.4 speed. I am slow still at running. depends on what type of workout you are wanting. Any movement is better than no movement!

I'm not a fan of running but I do like to challenge myself with the incline on the treadmill. Whenever I get a chance I use the treadmill that goes up to 30% just because they are not available at every gym I use. And speed is definitely lowered.

I'm not a runner, never have been and I never will be so I do an incline workout on the treadmill about 3x a week. 5% incline for 10 mins, 10% incline for 10 mins. 15% incline for 15 mins, then 10% for 5, and 5% for 5. I keep my speed at 3.1 or higher. I'm burning a ton of calories, and it really works the rear end!

Remember that if you're holding on to the treadmill, don't count that calorie burn. I see people in the gym doing this all the time. They'd burn more calories at a lower incline where they're not holding on.
