Working towards mini triathlon

I'm 43 and only started serious exercise exactly a year ago when I ran for the first time! I'd been doing moderate yoga for 4 years and been mostly Paleo for 3. After running my first 5K last September, I got the bug to think towards a mini tri. I want to challenge myself!
Anyone else on this track or have some wisdom for me?
Thx!

I actually signed up for my first sprint Tri this year. My race is on August 2nd so I'm getting the hang of everything now! I heard www.beginnertriathlete.com/ is a great resource to check out for workouts and information on Tris. Also MFP has a Tri group that you should join to get more information from experiences triatheletes, http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/88-triathletes-duathletes
    Good luck!

Sorry just saw this. It was a lot of fun, 600m swim, 30k bike, 5k run, I completed it in just over 2 hours. It would have been under but I had 1 mistake in each transition but I think it went really well for my first time and I definitely plan to do more in the future :) Hope you enjoy your training!
