Calories and Exercise...Confused

I'm trying to get a better understanding of calories and how they affect weight gains/loss. So for the past 4 days I've consumed a little over 4600 calories. I've burned 1900 calories with exercise. So do I need to up my exercise calories to see the scale shift down????
In other words, do I have to burn 4600 calories in exercise to offset the 4600 calories in food I've consumed?

Set your goal to .5 lb. per week for every 25 lbs. you're overweight: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/account/change_goals_guided
Your goal has your deficit built in, so you're supposed to log your exercise and eat back your exercise calories.

What @editorgrrl said. Also, a lot of people recommend eating back just half your calories burned, to make up for any inconsistencies in actual calories burned.0

I've read that also, but I'm afraid to eat back any calories. I know that sounds crazy.

Thanks for the info. I guess I need to change my goal to 1lb per week then. I have it set at 1 1/2.

You don't have to get an attitude. I just misunderstood your post. When most people state their CI, it's per day. And there was no "shade" being "thrown." I was legitimately asking a question. Calm.0 -

You don't have to eat them back. But if you feel hungry, don't hesitate to have a small snack/meal if your exercise calories allow for it!0
