Don't look smaller

so over the past two and half months I've lost somewhere around 10lbs. I don't log much cause I'm busy and using the pedometer in my phone drains the battery. But today I did, and no wonder I've been losing. 15k steps so far today and there is no way I can eat that back.

But my pants don't seem to be getting looser, and I don't look any smaller.

I'm not interested in getting to what doctors describe as my "goal weight" of 140 because I've been there and I would have to lose upwards of 30lbs of muscle to do it. I'm just wondering if I can ever expect to not look like a fat girl but somewhat more times than I do now.

Depends on how big you are to be able to notice a 10lb loss. Why would you need to lose 30lbs of muscle

When I got down to around 140 I was scary. Like see bones scary. I was weak, most of the strength in my upper body was gone and a bunch in my lower body as well. It didn't stop being scary until I upped my calorie intake and got up to 170-180. And while it was soft I got a lot stronger.

Try lifting weights on a deficit. Helps maintain existing muscle while assisting with fat loss. 15K steps is like 11km of walking. You're doing something right!

Somewhere around 10? So, you don't know then? Erm, yes, you can lose weight to "not look like a fat girl". What is your body fat %?

Maybe you're not losing fat in your hips and legs yet? I've lost about 10-15 lbs over the past year and I went down a clothing size in shirts, but not in pants. I have found it easier to get into my skinny jeans though.

If you strength train whilst losing you will retain and increase your muscle and strength instead of feeling weak whilst losing fat as well as lean muscle.

I did not notice much difference until 20 pounds lost.
And people only began noticing at the 30 pound mark.

It will come. Keep your chin up and your focus on your goals.
    You can do this :)

At the end of May when I last had a good scale it was 226, but according to the one I have at home it was closer to 230. Now the one at home says 214. So ten-ish is a good estimate. In two weeks a better estimate.

Get your body fat % checked and base your goal off of that. Lift weights while you eat at a deficit and you should lose mostly fat, not mostly muscle.

Edit: didn't see your last post. You still shouldn't have to lose 30lb of muscle unless you are extremely strong. Going by body fat % may make more sense for you.

The more you have to lose, the less noticeable it is, especially to yourself, when you see yourself every day. As far as clothes getting looser, my hubs lost 20 lbs and his pants just started getting looser, and he's not gone down a size yet.

    This.

And of course you can lose weight without losing 30 pounds of muscle. Lift and eat your protein goal.

I'm going with 10 pounds isn't enough to notice.

Depending on your build I would be thinking at 10 pounds you have lost less than 1 inch around the waist

Not very noticeable. Even 2 inches I could see you over looking.

I didn't notice much difference until I was down about 25 pounds. Other people didn't start commenting until I was down 35 or more.

Sounds like maybe you're just smaller on the inside? (Sorry, I couldn't resist)

You'll notice as you lose more.
