    Chia seed (per 100 gram):
    Calories: 490 (257 from fat)
    Total fat: 31 g (sat: 3 g, trans: 16 g)
    Carbogydrates: 44 g (fiber: 38 g, sugars: 0 g)
    Protein: 16 g

    Flax seed (per 100 gram):
    Calories: 534 (353 from fat)
    Total fat: 42 g (sat: 4 g, trans: ? g)
    Carbogydrates: 29 g (fiber: 27 g, sugars: 2 g)
    Protein: 18 g

Both do well in smoothies, and chia seeds get that gellike coating. Flax thickens and binds the smoothie. Pick your poison! :)

Chia tastes a bit bitter to me so I go for flax. I don't taste flax.

Im not a fan of chia. I dont like the gooey yuck they turn into. I use dground flax in my oatmeal everyday along with protien and blueberries and it gives off a nice little nutty flavor
