Buy and wear a heart rate monitor is the only real way that I know of.0

The only way I know how to figure it as close to exact as possible is with a Heart Rate Monitor (HRM). I have to get one myself but I know a lot of people use them.0

So true. I cannot afford one yet, so as a rule of thumb I go a little lower then what MFP states as burned calories. Different sights will average different calories for different activities; some more some less. Just know the less you way the less calories you burn then someone who ways more.0 -
I use a Garmin FR60 HRM.0

Ive got a FT4, love it, as MFP is way off for me on exercise calories0

I also use the Polar FT4 and realize how off I was when using other calorie counting devices (websites, etc.) Chest straps are the most accurate, and you can't even tell you are wearing it. Best money I have spent recently. It was a reward for my 20 lb weight loss.0

+1 - I love the Women's Polar FT4. It works great and looks feminine on the wrist (It's flesh tone colored)0
