Random Water Question....

Ok so everyday at work, I have a cup I use for water. It's a big cup and I try to drink about 5 of it.

WELL, one day I was trying to figure out how much the cup holds so I went into the breakroom, dumped out all the coffee in the coffee pot and poured in a cup on my water. I forget but, it went to the 4 or 6 line.

I'm not much of a coffee drinker nor, do I even really know how to make coffee. Does the number on the side of the coffee pot how many cups it is?

Therefore 1 would equal 8oz. of water?

    That sounds about right. I had a similar situation and I emptied my cup into a plastic 16 oz water bottle. Figured out my cup was 20 oz. I drink about 4-5 cups per day.

    Usually the side of the pot is how many cups. I don't drink coffee enough either, but I always made it for my dad.

    I took a 1cup measuring cup (8oz) and used that for my favorite drinking glass.

    By definition....8oz = 1 glass of water

    I know that I have a 2 quart jug I drink everyday and then I drink anything extra on top of that to make sure I get plenty of water :)

    The markings on the side of a coffeepot are based on 6 oz cups. So, the 4 line would be 24 oz equaling 3 actual cups.

    Coffee cups are generally between 4 and 6 oz size. I just used my coffeemaker to check how much goes in - 2 cups of water came almost to the 4 serving mark. Hope that helps!

    An 8 ounce cup is standard for cooking, but not for a "cup" of coffee. The measurements on the side of a coffee pot can be anywhere between 6 and 8 ounces per cup. I think most servings of coffee are 6 ounces of cold water, which yield slightly fewer ounces of actual coffee (due to evaporation of some of the water).

    ahhh thanks! I'm about to go dump out the coffee again and get better numbers. haha
