Would like to connect with other MFP pals to keep motivated. My current goals are:
1. Reach 210 lbs by end of 2015
2. Lose 100 lbs / reach 165 lbs by July 2016
3. Run a marathon **

Hi there! I was at 265 lbs. last December, and am now at 245 lbs. (slow but it's staying off! ) Your goals look great & I think running a marathon would be a fun challenge!0

Hi Sharon , good for you for taking on the challenge . I'm losing about 1.5 pounds per week. It's very slow but that way it becomes a lifestyle. Good luck with your journey and feel free to add me !0

I will be 42 in just over a month. I started at 264 lbs 4 weeks ago. So you and I are similar in age, weight, and weight to lose. Like you I want to lose 100+ lbs, and I would like to do it in a year or less...so by next summer. I am using the My Fitness Pal app to track everything, but I am using the Body-For-Life program (www.bfl.com) to try to reach my fitness and nutrition goals.0

I am 51 I started in January I was 302 lbs
In about 6 months I have lost 79 lbs I am now 223 lbs
Tips
Never look at the big weight you need to lose I do it 5lbs at a time ( set small goals )
If you mess up don't worry just get back to it right away
You took a long time to put the weight on its not going to come off in a couple of weeks
You can do this take it one day at a time0 -
We have a very similar story. I sent you a pal requeat. (first one. Not sure how it works yet) we are the same age and weight with the same weight loss goal. No marathon for me though. Best wishes.0

I'm 47 and started at 251. Now at 229 and looking to get to 199 by New Years. We got this thing!0

55 lb in 4 months isn't realistic.
Neither is 100 lb in 1 year, when you're only starting out 100 lb overweight.
("Only"... well, compared to the super-morbidly-obese who are a couple hundred pounds or more
over a healthy BMI.)
I started with 110 to get to the top of a healthy BMI range, and lost 60 in the first year.
Am down about another 20, for a total of about 80 in 20 months.
Admittedly, I've been slacking on exercise & not paying close attention to intake for a couple months,
but this is a marathon, not a sprint. There are going to be breaks & plateaus. At least I'm not gaining.
