help understanding macros

Hey folks, I've just jumped into this site and still trying to figure out how it works. Can someone explain the macros chart to me?. Basically I've been trying to keep under or just at my daily calorie allowance, however when I look at yesterday's macros for example, I'm showing a very high percentage of fat intake? Am I therefore hindering my progress? Is The trick to reach each goal...carb, fat, protein. Should I try eat more protein to enhance weight loss?
Thanks in advance

Fat doesn't make you fat. A caloric surplus does.
Not hitting your macros is fine for weight loss in certain scenarios... I think you're fine. Just keep eating in a caloric deficit (the number of calories MFP gave you) and you will lose weight.
Eating more protein or whatever doesn't make you lose any more weight; as I said, it's the caloric deficit which does.0 -
Okay Thank you very much for clarifying0

you used an erroneous entry for Generic - 2 Egg Whites/1 Egg Yolk Scramble , 1 cup cooked with a ridiculous entry for fat content. Just a mistake.

When you first use an item, it's best to double-check the values given. You can edit the values, choose a different item that's accurate, or add the item to My Foods yourself to make sure that the values are accurate.0 -

"Generic" means "no brand entered" in this context I suspect - or the user entered Generic as a piece of text. Click on "nutrition info" before entering an item to check it.
