Getting gains without a hard bulk

currently i am playing football and I need a new regiment to keep me lean for the whole season. Any advice?

eat at maintenance and lift heavy.
you can't bulk/gain weight AND stay lean ..

You can't gain weight or gains without a surplus in calories the best you can do to stay lean is eat enough calories to maintain your weight and with the sports and lifting you'll get pretty cut and lean if thats your goal. But bulking is pretty easy, just eat more than usual like 300-500 calories (that's a surplus on the calories you burn daily including any activity) and that translates to a turkey sandwich with some cheese and you're good.0
