So many recipes call for just egg whites. What do people do with their left over yolks...? X

When I ate eggs I made these babies - a mouthful of heaven. The little ones in my family love them

Fab ideas thanks x I'm assuming I defrost them before I try and use them again...?! Or can I add them to stuff frozen, like if I was putting one in mashed potato for example..? Would the heat from the potato cook it enough...? X0

Are you UK based? All I could find the tesco was egg white powder and I didn't fancy it...! X0 -

They look amazing!!!!0 -
I run them under cold water in a ziplock and they thaw quickly. Or, put them in the fridge overnight.
I have an ice tray I can put the in until frozen, then store them in a bag.0 -
I buy egg whites.0

Yeah you can buy them. But I only have a few recipes that call for them so it's easier to just use what I have on hand. Otherwise, I only eat whole eggs.0

I don't take egg yolks out for the heck of it, so only if a dessert calls for it like meringue. I either put them in something else like custard, or give them to my dog that's on a BARF diet.0

hollandaise, custard, french toast.0

beat up the egg yolks
Stir fry some veggies
My favorite mix is...spinach onion garlic mushrooms some fine cut red and green bell pepper
now cook them all together with the egg yolks and spices etc to a fritata ( which you can freeze in parts if you want) and keep in the fridge for days too.0 -
You can make mayonnaise with them. I either throw them out or add them to my boyfriend's omelette.0

I freeze them until I can make a TIRAMISU. Or Creme Brulee!! Or a fruit tart with custard filling.
I hate wasting food. I even use my finger to scoop out the egg whites still clinging inside their shell.0 -
If you have a dog you can give it to them especially since you don't do it all the time. They are really good for their coat. My dog loves it when I give them to her!! Just be careful about doin it too much bc you don't wanna make them over weight.0

Some more great ideas thankyou xx my dog will be pleased too!0

I feel your pain. It's very hard to find egg whites on their own in a bottle here in the UK. It's very common in the US. I personally just fry the yolks up to put on a slice of toast0

The only recipes i know that use egg whites are meringues, cakes and things like that. Is that what you want to eat on a diet. Whole eggs are healthy.0
