Lost.....

Feeling lost…..I have always been a big girl and it hasn’t bother me but lately my 10 and 7 year old have started to follow in my steps and I need to make chances. When people see me they all assume I am doing great and that I look good (compare to how I used to look) but inside I just feel lost. I used to be really big (298 at one point) and now 206 so I have gotten comfortable with my weight but I know I need to lose more. I also run a page on FB called Chicas on a Mission but I gave myself a little time out for a few days just to refocus on me. I have a lot of people that follow the page and I am good at giving other motivation but not myself. Last time I saw the gym was 7/17 and haven’t been back due to health issues, I can barely walk some days and my back keeps giving out….soooooo basically I know what I need to do but just don’t seem to want to do it…...I need mental help….lol

You'll get there! Being on MFP is a step in the right direction. You don't want to push yourself physically if it is causing you pain, so keep focusing on what you're eating and it will definitely help! it can be hard to watch kids take on unhealthy habits, unfortunately I have a 5 year old who hardly eats anything BUT fruits and vegetables so it makes me feel guilty if I don't eat well. I actually do a program that has helped me a lot but I don't want to get in trouble 'advertising" or "advocating" anything but I can give you more info if you're interested.0

I have trouble getting back to excercise since my weight went up to 260 lbs. I am now at 227 and have started little. Look on line for things you can do with back pain. Start at 5 mins a day if that is what you can do. I started with 5 simple exercises and am working uo. Some thing is better than nothing.Good Luck0

Thanx guys I appreciate the support and I haven't really given MFP a good chance so I am really going to try this time.0

Here are the things that keep me motivated to move toward my personal goals: My friends on MFP - we enjoy checking on each other's progress and it is really fun to share that. The MFP food and exercise diary, helps me plan meals in advance and maintain an accurate deficit. Knowing that if I slip up, I can get right back to my program and I don't have to give up - like I always did in the past.
I had neck and back problems until I started doing regular workouts. Then most all pain went away. I'm slowly working toward my goal and have lost 16 lbs in the past year. It helps me greatly to look back and see that progress.
None of this is easy for any of us. But we can help each other along. I hope this thread gives you some good ideas. And thank you for being such a caring and responsible Mom - we need more parents like you.

I suffer with back problems and was told that in order to stay active I need to strengthen my core muscles using yoga. The problem being that yoga and other gentle exercises hurt my back so I go to the gym and spend time on the cardio machines ( not the rowing machine though) and doing gentle floor exercises. Maybe this is something you could try?0

Thanx guys my number one role is to try and be the best mom I can be and I do exercise and enjoy it but just haven't lately and so now going to focus on the food part. That is the hardest part for me.....not over eating.0
