What activity level should you use if you have a pedometer?

hi! If you have a pedometer that is linked to your MFP account, should you set your exercise level as sedentary because all the steps/exercise you are doing is being counted for the exercise adjustment (and you don't want to count it twice)?

You should set your activity level to what you actually are. The activity tracker should not count your activity twice.

If (and only if) you enable negative calorie adjustments in your diary settings, then choosing an activity level is a matter of personal preference when you connect an activity tracker to your account: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/account/diary_settings

When you increase your activity level you start with more calories, then get smaller adjustments. Either way, you're still eating your activity tracker burn minus deficit.

No need to log any step-based activity. Log non-step exercise (like swimming or biking) either in the tracker or in MFP—never both. Exercise logged in MFP overwrites your tracker burn during that time.
