SOMETIMES splurge and use two haha
I can't imagine it. I put two in one mug! Though technically one isn't tea (Celestial Seasonings Bengal Spice).
Though, I am more of a chamomile fan, so it's light anyways!

Whew!
Good thing I only use 99 bags a day tops!0 -

And also not truly a tea, so may not have the oxalates.0 -
I love black tea. When I was pregnant with my 2nd though my OB told me not to drink tea with my meals. I was drinking a ton of iced, unsweetened, decaf black tea. He said the tea can interfere with the absorption of nutrients or some such. Sounded kind of brosciency to me, but what do I know.0

I've lurked for years and never written but this made me feel like I have to. My family comes from Russia and probably every single person from my grandparents to my 2 year old niece drinks several cups a day. My mom and I have each had about 10 cups a day each day for at least 10 years. And... We are fine. We drink unsweetened black tea. Normally don't use bags just loose leaves.
In 6th grade on a school overnight some teacher tried to tell me that tea was awful for me and called my parents to try and explain this to them. Being biochemists they tried their best not to laugh at that poor lady.
Really most of Russia has done this for a long time. You know those metals samovars in every stereotypical image of Russia? Those were to keep water hot so you could easily make more tea.

Based on a quick search, it looks like oxalates can lead to calcium oxalate kidney stones or as crystals that cause renal failure.
A single drink of black tea puts you over the recomeded daily limit of oxalates.
However, this problem is usually associated with gastric bypass surgery, other deficiencies are present, or ethelyne glycol poisoning.
If overconsumption of tea was a problem there would be more than one case that I could easily find. As I know scores of people who drink tea all day long. Also oxalates are found in many foods, which would compound the problem.
If I listened to everyone who told me not to eat something I would be drinking water only and eating only from a small handful of approved foods. I'll take my chances with the tea.
/end thread
The day I start basing anything on "something some dude told me" and then passing it off to others is the day I decide Scientology makes a lot of sense.

Also, better stop eating spinach. That devil food has 645mg of oxalates per 100g while tea only has 7.5mg when brewed with 250g of water.

You know what else can cause kidney failure? A car accident. Better stop driving.0

Thanks for another derptastic post full of scare mongering, MFP.
Seriously, Niner, can't you find something more serious to frighten people about? The poison is in the dosage. 10cups is not an issue.0
