When you live in Arizona jogging in the afternoon isn't possible. And jogging at night is just scary.

I live in Fresno, which is almost as hot as Arizona (sometimes) - in summer I'm out the door at dawn to beat the heat, or at least the death rays of the sun, or it doesn't happen. My pace is far slower in summer, that's just how it is - the higher the temp (especially if it's humid), the slower i go. I don't run as long or as far either - 30-45 minutes is about it, and that's ok for me - still a good workout (better than none at all!), and in between days I'm doing weights in the a/c, so it works out.
I see people around here running out in the afternoon heat sometimes - I don't know how they do it!0 -
I run at night but always with my dog, he's my fitness buddy and security guard. If you don't have a dog, do you have a neighbor or friend whose dog could use some exercise? Just make sure both of you have a lot of reflective gear on.0

You might have to become an early bird! Jogging at dawn is wonderful, and your internal clock will adjust quick enough borrowing a dog to run with is a good idea too!0

I jog at night! & I have been for a while but it just sucks because obviously it's not really safe to have headphones on while jogging especially at night. That's what sucks.0
