started 3 weeks ago, have not gone off at all, some days eating less than allowed, have only lost 4.6 lbs. have a hard time with excersize as I fractured both feet last year. Need some suggestions, 52 so thinking maybe the whole menopause thing might be slowing me down.

I'm 60 and have plantar fasciitis. I'm doing T25 exercise DVDs now but I slow it down with the modifier person as my body demands. Weight loss is calories. I've also lost 5 pounds in 6 weeks. I'm thrilled. Go at s slow and easy pace so that you can be comfortable and keep it off.

I too have problems with my feet. I try 10 minute intervals so I don't over due it with the feet. I found on youtube exercise for people who have to be in a seated position. That too gives me some extra movement. Add a few 1 pound weights and you will make it even better. Feel free to add me as a friend. It is always a journey to eat well, exercise, sleep, drink water...so motivating each other and being accountable is what I am looking for if you are interested. :)

I'm 53, so I know it can be done. Losing weight is about the calorie count, strictly speaking you don't have to exercise in order to lose. 4 pounds in 3 weeks is actually pretty good, just keep going!

I read that arm workouts can speed up your metabolism, if that helps.

4.6lbs in 3 weeks is great! My weight is coming off pretty slow at the minute about 0.5 - 1lb per week and I know how tough it can be to keep motivate when you feel it's going slowly, but at least it is coming off - that's the main thing! As for exercise, maybe something that is less impact on your feet like swimming or cycling?

Keep up the good work though - you're doing great :)

You are making incredible progress and I think its totally natural to fall into a rut from time to time, as long as you come back out. Exercise is great, good for you, and I'll never not recommend strength training... but eat less+exercise less is a totally viable option, too. If you're feeling worn down/stressed/demotivated, give yourself a rest for a few days. I often find motivation and willpower revived after a little break.

    That happens sometimes.
